Princess Sheeda and her friends were enjoying her 16th birthday party. There was plenty of food, enough Coors Light to get everyone totally wasted, Green Day blaring on the speakers, and the cops only showed up once due to noise complaints from neighboring castles.
Suddenly, a pirate cleverly disguised as a Domino's Pizza delivery guy stormed the castle. After poisoning the guards by switching the Coors Light with Natural Light, he let the rest of the crew in to crash poor Sheeda's party. The pirates quickly stormed the castle, ate all the food, cheated at musical chairs, made everyone play Hydlide on the NES, and just made a big ass mess.
However, birthday girl Sheeda wasn't going to take this crap lying down. She and her friends scrambled to get those Colonial Vipers in the air and kick some pirate ass. After an intense battle, several pirate ships and Long John Silver's restaurants were up in flames. However, a lucky cannon ball hit the thrusters of Sheeda's Viper, sending her plummeting to the ground. She survived the crash, but realised she needed to get airborne again fast. Suddenly, she remembered her castle's greatest secret: a mystical creature called a pegasus was locked away in the stables. Unfortunately, the stables were protected by a steel door with a password system. Fortunately, Sheeda remembered the password is "12345" and quickly mounted her new trusty steed.
Sheeda decided to recruit the help of her lazy boyfriend, Marth, and his posse. Marth was reluctant to help until Sheeda promised him he could borrow Halo 3 from the castle treasury after the pirates were vanquished for good. Unable to pass up a good PC deathmatch battle, Marth and friends sprang into action. Those pirates don't stand a chance now.
All kidding aside, here are a few fun facts about the first Fire Emblem:
- Marth, the lord in this game, doesn't promote. Once he reaches level 20, that's it.
- This, the SNES remake, and the DS remake are the only games to feature the freelancer class, a class that can transform into any other playable character.
- There is no weapon triangle or trinity of magic in this game.
- Thieves destroy villages. Later in the series, mountain bandits generally destroy villages.
- Marth is the only character who can visit villages. However, anybody can visit a house.
- During the computer's turn, you actually see the computer use the cursor to select units and their destination. Due to this feature, sometimes the computer's turn takes a long time.
